Baptisms!
Sunday we celebrated the baptisms of two young people in our church. There is nothing cooler than young people who desire to begin their path of obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Some of Jesus' last words that are recorded in the Gospels tell His disciples to "go into all the world and make disciples...and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit" (Matt 28:19). When the church does this, it is a living testimony of obedience to Jesus.
It is a celebration for many reasons. When young people are obedient, it is a sign that the church will thrive for another generation. Truly exciting!
Something even more exciting is waiting for God to bring more people to a saving knowledge of Him through His son. Waiting for the next people who will embrace the Cross of Jesus, and seek to live a life that is radically different from the culture around it.
Baptisms! C'mon church...let's pray that more people will come to faith, and pray that we will see more baptisms this year here at Firestone Park Baptist Church.
